Payment information
When you donate, your payment details (such as your card number) are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor, Stripe — not by us. We never see or store your full card number.
We do store a record of each completed donation: the amount, currency, approximate time, and a payment reference ID from the processor. This powers the live "collected so far" tracker. We do not display donor names publicly.
Contact information
If you provide an email address during checkout (for a receipt), it is handled by the payment processor and may be visible to us in the processor's dashboard. We use it only for donation-related communication, never for marketing lists or resale.
Usage data
Like most websites, basic technical information may be processed when you visit — such as your browser type, approximate region, and pages viewed — to keep the site secure and working properly. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising profiles.
Third-party processors
Payment processing is handled by third parties such as Stripe. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. Our hosting and database provider also processes data on our behalf to run the site.
Data retention and security
Donation records are kept to maintain an accurate public tracker and for basic accounting. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Your choices
Donating is entirely voluntary, and you can browse the site without donating. If you have questions about your information or would like a donation record removed where possible, reach out to us.
